Crypto Exchange That Hosted a Scammer’s Wallet Is ‘Not Liable’ For Victim’s Losses, Court Rules Posted: 27 Jun 2022 05:00 PM PDT   A South Korean judge has ruled that a domestic crypto exchange is not liable for the actions of a voice phishing scam gang who transferred their victims' coins onto its platform. According to Newsis, an individual named only as 'B' for legal reasons claimed they had been the victim of a scamming ring. The case was heard at the Civil Settlement Division of the Seoul Central District Court.... G7 Inadvertently Makes the Case for Bitcoin with New Gold Move Posted: 27 Jun 2022 01:00 PM PDT   The Group of 7 (G7) countries are inadvertently making the case for Bitcoin (BTC), as gold's shortcomings are becoming more obvious after a new move to ban imports of Russian gold. The move to ban gold imports from Russia was announced by the US, UK, Japan, and Canada during the G-7 meeting that started in Germany on Sunday. According to a statement from the UK government, the move will have "global reach, shutting the commodity out of formal international markets."... Bitcoin Funds See Largest Outflows on Record ‘By a Wide Margin’ – CoinShares Posted: 27 Jun 2022 06:04 AM PDT   Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto-backed investment funds saw outflows of USD 423m last week, marking the largest weekly outflows on record "by a wide margin," data from the digital asset investment firm CoinShares shows. Per the latest update from CoinShares, the large outflows were solely focused on BTC funds, with USD 453m in capital leaving these funds. ONE Keeps Trending Lower while Harmony Offers Hacker USD 1M in Bounty for Return of Funds Posted: 27 Jun 2022 01:03 AM PDT   The team behind the layer-1 blockchain Harmony (ONE) has offered the Horizon Bridge hacker USD 1m in bounty for the return of some USD 100m in stolen funds. "We commit to a [USD] 1M bounty for the return of Horizon bridge funds and sharing exploit information," Harmony said in a Twitter post on Sunday, sharing a contact email and an Ethereum (ETH) address.  The company also pledged not to advocate for criminal charges when funds are returned....
